“I cannot speak highly enough about this course. As a relatively new graduate, I was in search of a course to expand my knowledge on how to support my client’s sensory-based needs. This course provides excellent evidenced-based information in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoyed watching all the videos, and further appreciated that Moira explained the science behind sensory processing and recommended strategies. Moira also provided several additional resources, and most importantly is kind and approachable for any questions one might have. This course also maintains a neurodiversity-affirming lens, which is essential for practitioners providing support to autistic individuals and their families.“

“I participated in Moira’s workshop on Sensory Processing and Sensory-Based Interventions for Children. Moira presented as extremely knowledgeable and passionate. I got the opportunity to learn about the implementation of core concepts of solution-focused communication with parents and caregivers, select and implement specific evidence-based intervention strategies for meaningful occupations, and many others! Moira responded to all questions without hesitation and included practical examples that all participants can relate to in their own work. Moira is truly an exceptional presenter with such a beautiful soul and spirit which was shown throughout the workshop. Truly an inspiration!“

I gained new knowledge that I was able to incorporate immediately into my practice. Evidence-based information was imbedded into every module. After completing this course I feel more confident in my ability to support clients with sensory processing challenges. “As a new OT grad (UBC Class 2023), I think this Level 2 course is exactly what I needed to boost my confidence and knowledge in this area of practice, especially because pediatrics is not something that is covered in depth in OT school. I’ve enjoyed the modules and the course is organized very nicely and easy to follow. I really like how Moira provided specific BEST strategies for each module. She has created a very well organized and comprehensive online course on Autism and BEST Strategies!’

“I was so excited to take Moira’s level 2 course as an experienced OT in paediatrics to further my skill set and knowledge base on evidence based and neurodiversity-affirming sensory based interventions. The format works well for practicing clinicians to complete the learning modules at our own pace with the valued added live check-ins as a group. Moira is an engaging presenter and I benefited from both her personal case study examples as well as her grounding and framing each module on the latest available research. I feel that my own toolkit and confidence have grown as the course unfolds. I look forward to future courses and would definitely recommend this one!”

“This Level 2 course has validated for me the need to affirm neurodiversity principles and support sensory needs to promote regulation. This course has also helped me to feel confident in spending extra time with sensory regulation and building trust and connection with the clients I work with. I plan to utilize many of the resources provided to educate families on how to best support their child!“

“Thank you for providing this course! I have used many of the strategies and resources from the Level 2 course course already to help families with changing the sleep environment, educate parents on feeding strategies, and encourage movement for regulation. I have been doing a lot more sensory based strategies for emotional regulation and the families that I work with have noticed a difference. I always use a visual schedule as a tool for keeping the session on track, but, since taking this course, I have also been making visuals for morning and bed time routines that have gotten a lot of positive feedback from parents. “

“As someone whose brain often gets overwhelmed and overloaded with information during standard professional development trainings, this course was incredible for me! The hybrid-online format allowed me the flexibility to navigate through the material at my own pace, pausing, reflecting, and revisiting the content as needed. The course materials, including numerous additional handouts and resources, were well-organized and valuable for future use. The practicality of the course content was amazing, as it was immediately applicable to my school based practice. The Q&A sessions provided a great space to ask questions and connect with both Moira and fellow participants. This course is an amazing foundation for any clinician working with autistic children.”

“This course was a delight to do! Lots of insights and great resources! The most important perspective is the autistic people getting their voices heard throughout the entire course! Professionals recognizing their flaws and growing by side of the autistic community is priceless! Strategies, explanation of the tools, all really well done, even for someone like me who is not an OT. Thank you for teaching me to better understand myself and my son.

On top of that, Moira also provided education in a client-centred, neurodiversity-affirming approach, which I greatly appreciated. This course provided me with a plethora of practical resources to use in my practice. I especially appreciated the live sessions where we could discuss topics as a group and ask questions. “The I completed this course after listening to Moira speak at another conference. Her genuineness, knowledge, and passion towards providing strength based, neuro-affirming intervention based on the most up to date evidence makes her so engaging to listen too. I loved the hybrid learning model to the course where I was able to complete the modules at my own pace but then had the opportunity to participate in interactive discussion groups where there was opportunity to apply learned information into everyday / practical situations. The course material and resources shared within the course have been a great asset to me in my everyday practice and have been something I continue to reference. Thank you, Moira, for your ongoing leadership and willingness so share your knowledge and experiences with others.“

“I really enjoyed your Level 1 online course! The content was thorough, practical and well-organized and the evidence was clearly indicated which is always helpful to guide and inform our practices. I really valued the flexibility of viewing the modules at my own pace and schedule, and the live sessions were wonderful to discuss the course content, brainstorm together, and network. The course was validating for my current practice as an OT, but also a great reminder for other information as well as learning some new strategies that I can incorporate into my practice. It definitely met my expectations and I have already recommended it to several other colleagues.”

It was amazing to have been part of the online discussions with OTs, SLPs and other service providers from all around the globe. A dynamic and interactive learning platform that was both academic and practical. By completing your course I can confirm that I have learned so much and grown as therapist. Thanks to your course, I am currently using many new sensory based approaches and strategies in my practice with autistic adults with more confidence knowing about the results and research backing my interventions!

“Hands down, one of the most informative and practical training sessions ever! As an SLP, I knew about the importance of incorporating movement into my therapy sessions, but, what I did not know was how to incorporate movement in a way that would help my client with sensory regulation. After Moira’s workshop, I have the tools to tailor sensory. breaks according to the individual needs of my clients to help regulate them and then to be able to work on communication needs more effectively. The BEST Strategies Approach is one that encompasses all aspects of sensory regulation and provides a nice framework for my sessions. Thank you! I can’t wait to incorporate what I have learnt into my practice!“

“This course was a perfect mix of evidence based information and practical strategies for intervention. As a “seasoned” therapist, it gave me the opportunity to learn about more recent approaches and it provided a strong overview of the sensory systems and latest information in each area. “I wanted to say thank you so much for a wonderful course. It was jammed packed with information and resources. I had tried to be part of your course originally but it was full, then a spot opened and I am thrilled that I took the leap! There were definitely some items that I knew before but not one topic that I didn’t learn something else to add to my tool box or could way to use techniques/communication/ assessment, etc., in a different manner. The resources, Instagram links and articles were amazing. I can’t say enough about your course- well thought out and excellently prepared. All in all, you ROCK….. adding you to my ‘OT Crushes’!”

“As a Registered Psychotherapist, I found the Sensory and Self Regulation workshop refreshing, insightful and practical. I enjoyed learning from others in attendance including OT’s and educators; the case review activities offered different perspectives and reminded me of the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. The BEST strategies that Moira shared are applicable to the work I do with neurodivergent children but also other populations. The information provided about sensory systems and differences, particularly the nervous system, make this a wonderful workshop for those supporting people that have experienced trauma and anxiety. Thank you Moira for the valuable learning opportunity, I left the workshop with ideas, inspiration and new perspectives..”

“As a social worker and child therapist that works with neurodivergent children and parents, I found Moira’s 2 day Sensory and Self Regulation training extremely rewarding. Moira is an engaging speaker that presents detailed information in different formats for all learning styles. While encouraging guests to answer questions and share their expertise along with hers, it made me feel really valued as a mental health professional and demonstrated the benefit of a multidisciplinary team. I highly encourage individuals looking to expand their knowledge on sensory systems and connect with others in the field to participate in one of Moira’s training offerings.”

“I participated in Moira’s workshop on Sensory Processing, Self-Regulation,and BEST Strategies. The information was well-organized and presented in a way that was easily digestible and understandable for someone without much previous knowledge of sensory processing. Moira also invited us to discuss several case studies, which gave me an idea of how sensory-based interventions could be implemented even with limited time and resources. Since the workshop, I have been applying several of these strategies with clients and their families, and it has been amazing to see how much their access to communication can improve when they are given the support they need to be regulated!“

“Thank you so much for all your hard work in putting together this incredible Level 2 course!. As an occupational therapist who has worked in the field of paediatrics for over 15 years, I was hoping to learn about important updates. One thing that especially blew me away with your course content was how holistic it was. In all my years of taking courses, we often focus on one very specialized area. However, it was so exciting to have you take us through the many areas we cover as paediatric OTs from sensory processing, feeding, play, leisure, personal care, sleep, school, to solution-focused communication. And while you still covered so many areas, you somehow managed to go into a good amount of depth on each topic. There were so many key takeaways! While I feel like I’m positive and focus on individuals’ strengths, I learned that my questions to parents don’t always reflect that. I also truly appreciated the supplemental materials you provided, the recommended apps that can also be used with adults, specific leisure strategies, and just learning from some of the ways you explain concepts that I already know but want to improve on. Even though the modules are recorded, you are so engaging and have a skill of weaving in current research and stories from your personal experience as an experienced therapist. I also appreciated the live question and answer meetings. I can’t wait to ‘see’ you at your future courses, Moira!”

“As a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who works primarily with neurodivergent children and their families, I thoroughly enjoyed Moira’s Sensory Processing, Self Regulation & BEST Strategies workshop. Not only was this workshop informative, it was also engaging…we had movements breaks, there were videos, small group discussions, and large group discussions. I left knowing REAL ways in which to help my clients become more regulated, which is essential for them to learn, communicate, and function at their best (or should I say BEST). Moira is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. I highly recommend this workshop!

“I attended the hybrid online courses Autism & Sensory Processing: Concepts, Evidence & BEST Strategies Level 1 and 2. Prior to taking these courses, I had very limited knowledge of the topic. Now, I feel much better equipped. If I say, “I LOVED IT!” it doesn’t express enough. I highly recommend taking both levels; they broadened my skills beyond clinical knowledge and introduced me to our advocacy role and neurodiversity-affirming practices. Moira is very knowledgeable and passionate about the world of Autism. She shared many resources that are helpful for us as therapists, our clients and their families. I definitely enjoyed learning from her in the hybrid format. She answered my questions during the live Q&A sessions, and I was able to watch the course modules at my own pace. Thank you so much, Moira, for the wonderful experience of learning with you and for helping me feel more confident around working with autistic individuals and their families!”

“Moira’s Autism and Sensory processing Level 1 and Level 2 courses have had a significant impact on my understanding of the sensory needs of the children/students I work with. I have gained so much knowledge in how to regulate, support, and motivate my clients which enables me to see much greater success with my communication goals. Prior to this course I did not fully understand how sensory regulation fit into the scope of practice as an SLP and now feel much more confident in my ability to assess and support sensory needs to promote communication. This course has a strong focus on neuro-affirming care, is jam packed with practical strategies, and incorporates autistic voices and their lived experience.”

“I had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the Level 1 and Level 2 Autism & Sensory Processing hybrid courses and I found both courses extremely informative. Moira provided evidence based research and case studies to support the information provided in her courses. As a new graduate as an OTA, I found the information discussed in the modules helpful because Moira provides multiple examples of equipment or sensory tools that could be used for different sensory profiles and explains how these can meet an individuals needs. I now feel more confident collaborating with my supervising OT to brainstorm different ideas to trial in order to meet our clients sensory needs. Moira’s courses are very well organized, easy to follow, and really highlights the importance of meaningful treatment for children and their families. “I participated in Moira’s 1-day course, The BEST Approach to Picky Eating: Understanding Sensory-Based Feeding Challenges in Children and Youth. I really enjoyed the most current evidence, how structured the slides were as well as the many examples of interventions! I now feel more confident in coming up with an intervention plan through the use of the BEST approach. Although I have over 10 years of experience, this course has given me a great way to structure my clinical reasoning and problem solving skills. The case studies were also a great way to collaborate together with other professionals and learn from each other. It was definitely worth it!”

“Moira – I just want to say how absolutely fantastic your Level 1 & 2 courses are… Often with online learning I have a hard time focusing but everything is so well-structured and ‘logical’ that I just wish I had more time in the day to watch the modules! I’m so glad I’m listening to you as well before leaping into ‘doing’ things – I can already tell that your information and framework will help me structure my involvement in a more strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming way than I would have done so otherwise. So appreciated!”
